Anna is a tomboyish 12-year-old girl who lives in Sapporo and struggles with making friends with other. So she is sent to the countryside to live with her relatives. There she meets Marnie, a mysterious girl who becomes the first friend of Anna. But later, Anna starts questioning whether Marnie only exists on her dreams.
